Portsmouth Anti-cuts March This Saturday

Rowner Eddie - Portsmouth Anarchists | 13.01.2011 20:32 | Public sector cuts | South Coast

Portsmouth Against the Cuts Together (PACT) are holding a march through the city to oppose the austerity measures brought in by the government. PACT are a non-politically biased community campaign group that seeks to unite all that are against the cuts.

It’s important that everybody makes a final push to make the demonstration on Saturday as big as possible. With the news that Portsmouth City Council intend to make massive job cuts to essential services only public opposition, with solidarity between council workers, service users and all other people of the city, can possibly stop them. We need to build a big campaign that says we don’t want to live in a society where services for ordinary people are run down and scrapped whilst the few in charge of big business and banks profits continue to soar to the detriment of the many.

So please invite friends, family, workmates and everyone else you can think of to come down to the march on Saturday!

Meet at University Library 12.30pm for a march to end in Guildhall Square with a rally and speeches at 2.00pm.
