The people who have been doing the media in the last few days were based around the Ratcliffe trial that just collapsed. They are are not the same group of people who were involved in the original confrontation of Mark. Your article is not a fresh view point but a rehash of rumour and misinformation, whose purpose is not to correct but to continue finger pointing and be divisive. Your reporting of the meeting at the bookfair is wrong for starters (I was there and it was clear where the Group of Six stood and why no more would be forthcoming). Yes, things could have been handled better in some quarters - I personally don't agree why ANOTHER set of people decided to go to the Guardian/Indymedia with their set of stories first.

However, but you are not offering ways forward, but simply throwing a tantrum because things did not go as you'd have liked them to have. As often said in these comments - there were very good reasons for protecting people who were close to the epicentre, and given the unpleasant experiences that people have been having with the likes of the Daily Mail knocking on their doors recently, it was clearly a well-founded fear. You have not acknowledged that either.

Thanks for the info

Thanks for such a concise report and history of the story. We've spoken to many activists but this is by far the best bits.

Thanks again!

This all needed saying and the arguments are clear and well-presented. No doubt it will be for the chop by the UK-IMC collective.

As to the comment about being sensitive to those at the 'epicentre', well, there isn't an epicentre - Kennedy was busy in 22 countries and some abroad are also extremely angry that they are having to trawl through the mainstream media to get info.

......

I am a class conscious anarchist who has never been involved in Indymedia UK Moderation and though I know the people who exposed Kennedy, I have been critical of how parts of our movements hhave been effected by middle class careerists.

But you are a fucking prick! Its obvious why UKIMC took your drivel down.

At the point when the most concrete expose of the filth in our midsts is all over the press, You decide to wine on about the fact that the people who had the bollocks to expose Mark wouldn't tell you where his fucking boat was moored and are trying hard to protect the identity of his main lover from the press.

GET A FUCKING GRIP, some of us are trying to fight the state not point score in public.

Whoever you are you are concocting a conspiracy that ain't there.
I, like you, disagree with the total lack of class analysis that Lewis, Jordan and some of the people outing the pig have, but calling them collaborators and implying they make deals with Special Branch is fucking low.

Solidarity in the face of the state is what's needed.

You are showing none of it.

why u so bothered about his boat?

What are you suggesting? I'm admitidly ignorant of the debate within the movement (though from this I can identify some sort of class based aggravation) -

but re: the boat, what do you want to do, head over there burn it to the ground and watch it sink with his family and friends on board screaming as they burn/drown to death....

what a mature considered action that would be
