Famous Activist on brink of Death

Elmore Cyranio | 13.01.2011 01:55 | Sheffield

A famous Sheffield activist is near to death.

Famous Sheffield activist, Mark Mozaz Wallis, is on a life-support machine and has been reported to be close to death. Should Mozaz (as he is affectionately known by many) fail to pull through, it will be a blow to all right-thinking men.
He's got swine flu.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to him.

I wish him all the best, hope he get well soon

I first met him at the Cookridge Street Cafe (Squat) in Leeds many years ago. He welcomed me into the building, showed me round, got me a tea and made me feel welcome. This made me return later and help out doing the electrics at that squat and many others since. I met up with him over the years at EF! gatherings and squats and never had any problems with him.

I last saw him at Mathilda's a few years ago at a EF! summer gathering meeting we were holding there, again he welcomed me and the others into the building and arranged us all some cups of tea and use of a computer.

I know some people have problems with him but I don't as he has always treated me and others I know with respect and consideration.

Get well Moses

Mozaz

Mozaz is indeed critically ill, on a ventilator in intensive care. He has swine flu and pneumonia. Myself and a solid group of his friends have been visiting and phoning for regular updates. I visited today and he was slightly more alert than he has been but my no means was he 'with it'. It's hoped to get him off the ventilator and sedation in the next day or so and see how he progresses.

Whilst I know all about his often irritating character and his propensity to rub people up the wrong way, I can only speak from my own personal experience. He has been a true and good friend to me for over 20 years, irritating, annoying, full of tall tales but with a heart of gold. I wish him a speedy and full recovery. He's by no means out of the woods yet, he is still critical but I'm staying hopefull.

Get Well Soon, Mozaz

Good luck Mo,

It says something about your larger than life character that you can still divide opinion even though you're unconscious!

'Ex-Anarchist' should be a little more self-reflective before s/he so publicly attacks an individual (especially one currently unable to defend themselves). As for the 'hope he dies' brigade, you're pretty sad aren't you. I bet these comments pages and forums are the closest you get to real human interaction. Seriously, you really need to get out more.

Get well soon,
W x
