Dear Radio Friend,

http://www.outfarpress.com/outfarpress/shortwave.shtml in both broadcast quality (13.3MB) and quickdownload or streaming form (4.9MB) (28:59)
(NEW! If you have access to Audioport.org there is a higher quality version posted up there {26.7MB} http://www.audioport.org/index.php?op=producer-info&uid=904&nav=&)
This week's show features stories from China Radio International, Spanish National Radio, Radio Havana Cuba, and Radio Deutsche-Welle.
From CHINA- Chinese scientists report a breakthrough in the recycling of spent nuclear fuel rods. Iran has invited the international community, except for the US, to inspect its nuclear facilities. There are some discussions between the Koreas about resuming joint projects. Record floods in Australia are causing catastrophic damage to the infrastructure of Queensland. A Governor in Pakistan was assassinated by one of his bodyguards, creating more instability and division among the citizens. UN peacekeepers want to increase their forces to nearly 12,000 in Cote d'Ivoire over the defeated President not stepping down. The Chinese Vice-Premier visited Spain and signed 7.5 billion dollars worth of government and commercial deals as well as bonds to help stabilize the Spanish economy.
From SPAIN- The Vice Premier of China published an editorial in El Pais about China's faith in Spain's financial market. Reporters Without Borders published statistics on journalists killed and kidnapped in the past year. Madrid had a conference on the Gaza flotilla and Anne Wright, a former US Army Colonel, spoke there and gave a long interview to Spanish National Radio.
From CUBA- Figures released say that more than 10,000 people were killed in Afghanistan, many of them civilians. Over the weekend 18 people were killed in 3 separate US drone strikes in Pakistan. Iran's military has shot down 2 US spy drones in the Persian Gulf. The Venezuelan government's refusal to accept Larry Palmer as the US ambassador to the nation was rethought by the US administration- his name was withdrawn from the position.
From GERMANY- After the Vice-Premier of China offered financial aid to Spain, he went on to Germany to seek more German investment in China. A new Wikileaks cable reveals that the US and Germany are secretly developing spy satellites under the cover of a commercial development to retrieve environmental data. In a further austerity measure, the UK has increased its VAT sales tax to 20%, like most other Euro nations.

All that plus times and frequencies for listening at home. It's free to rebroadcast, please notify me if you're airing it and haven't notified me in the last month, please mention the website if you only air a portion. If you just want to listen and have a slow connection, try the streaming version- lower sound quality but good enough and way easier if you don't have a high-speed internet connection. If streaming is a problem because of your slow connection, download the smaller file- it takes 20 minutes or less, and will play swell in any mp3 player application (RealPlayer, Winamp, Quicktime, iTunes, etc) you have on your computer.
This program will be aired on Friday evening at 6:30pm (PST) on KZYX/Z Philo CA, you might be able to stream via
There are several other streams that work better- Freak Radio Santa Cruz now streams this program on Friday at 9:00am.(PST)
The Shortwave Report may be downloaded as a podcast from or iTunes (search for "shortwave" in podcasts)

I hope you'll listen and air this if you're connected with a radio station. I am still wondering how to get financially compensated for the 25 hours I put into this program weekly- any ideas are appreciated. Any stations rebroadcasting this (or listeners) are welcome to donate for production costs. You can do so through the website. Many thanks to those that have donated! No Guilt! (maybe a little)
