Calais Xmass appeal

noborderer | 23.12.2010 11:35 | Anti-racism | Migration

It is exceptionally cold, but a white Christmas is not exactly the dream of migrants who are camping out with - 5 degrees or sleeping in derelict squats with no heating no electricity. For us, it should be time for action. The border is the problem.

We need:

People (the more the merrier)

Quite a few things planned over the Xmass, come at your risk and peril - the new 'safe space' is not yet and the space we have is ridicolously small.... we have some nice big squats though, but they arent safe from police. Good news is they dont usually beat us up, they just arrest us and put us in garde vue for a couple hours, or many hours sometimes, then usually we are released without charges. All activists who have been incriminated have been, so far, acquitted.

Materials

-blankets, sleeping bags, warm clothes, menś shoes, English sim cards, tea, cash (euros) All the above are in high demand and constant shortage. Also very appreciated hats, scarves, gloves and especially socks.

-a mobile sound system is on its way, a second hand guitar is very much needed and someone from Africa house would like to have Beyonce' singing there.

-a laptop and a projector.

Always let us know in advance that you are coming. Our contacts are on the blog - and we can tell you what we need most if you can bring...

Since they're nearly all muslims,

they don't give a fuck about Christmas anyway, so why bother? Or is it really for your benefit? In any case, many will not take kindly to your infidel proselytising.
