Call out for solidarity actions against Shell

rossport solidarity camp | 22.12.2010 14:46 | Rossport Solidarity | Climate Chaos | Ecology | Social Struggles | Sheffield

Any day now Shell will find out whether it will be able to continue with the dangerous Corrib Gas Project in Co. Mayo, Ireland

Shell's Corrib Gas Project is already decade late and 3 times over budget- impressive for a rural community fighting one of the biggest multinationals in the world!
If permission for the pipeline is granted, direct action against the project will continue...

Please organise solidarity actions in your communities in the week following the announcement, which is expected sometime late December 2010- early January 2011 (check website for details)

Not another boycott!

Ever noticed how all the middle class people ( and it is always middle class people) who call for 'action' or 'boycotts' of big business never seem to go without anything themselves? On the contrary they have more than most of us. What's more, if they don't work in public employment, expecting everyone else to pay for their good wages, superb pensions and cushy working conditions they quite often work for big corporations themselves with pension funds financed by oil shares.

It's all just a game for them, designed so they can parade their false caring side to the rest of us while they live nice middle class lives in the leafy suburbs well away from the riff-raff.

While they tell the rest of us how to live a 'fair' life they don't mind having more than their fair share of everything - bigger houses, more holidays, more cars etc.

For years they have denied the bags of assassination cash to the murderers they operate in Nigeria ( who can forget also the help from Gordon Brown in oppressing the people of the Niger Delta sending military supplies over last year.Wikileaks confirm that Shell have a finger in about every government department there. meanwhile Gordon Browns brother has helped to sell Eons dodgy nuclear money pit to the UK and raise the potential for Somerset to become a radioactive black hole...
