A militant attack has claimed the lives of six US-led soldiers in southern Afghanistan, bringing the death toll of foreign soldiers in the war-torn country closer to 700 so far this year. The international military coalition, ISAF, said in a statement that the incident happened Sunday but did not give further details. The latest incident brings the death toll for foreign soldiers based in Afghanistan to nearly 690 this year. 2010 has been the deadliest year of the nine-year war in Afghanistan, with casualties among civilians and foreign troops at record levels, mainly due to an increase in Taliban attacks. As casualties have risen in Afghanistan over the past few months, public opinion has begun turning against the war in the United States and other countries.

I suspect that this article was posted on Indymedia in support of the deaths of these soldiers. Am I right?

Does it matter?

Maybe it is just to demoralise the US and get them to pull out?

It's just information, draw your own conclusions from it. If you are an occupying force in a foreign country, you have to expect people there are going to be fucked off at you and will try to kill you. I know I would if Afghan troops invaded the UK.

You ask if it matters that six soldiers were killed for no good reason, then you insinuate the information is posted as celebration with no supporting evidence? WTF?!! If anyone here has a problem with caring about the war then it's you. Of course it fucking matters. That's another few families that have lost their loved ones for a lie, in an increasingly bloody war, where like all modern wars it is the local civilians who suffer most, increasingly so, and yet are mostly ignored by our media.
