The fact of the matter is, they where not, police repeatedly baton charged groups of peaceful protesters, charged them on horseback trampling many and in one case dragged a disabled protester from their wheelchair and threw them on to the floor.
The worst case how ever is a young man called Alfie Meadows who was stuck so hard on the head by police even though his manor was completely peaceful, that 3 hours later his brain started to bleed and he had to have live saving surgery. to look at which side was really violent you only have to look at the huge numbers of protesters admitted to hospital compared to only a small number of police.
no doubt a lot of people disagree with the acts of damage on buildings. it is unfortunate that students feel this is the only way they can be heard, but time and time the state in this country has overlooked hundreds of thousands of peaceful protesters on the streets. The reality is, no matter how hard i it may be for some people to acknowledge this, that illegal actions get a cause noticed and make people take note, after all it worked for the suffragettes, without whom, woman would still be unable to vote.
so please ask yourself are the protesters in the wrong or is it the system in which ignores the wishes and wants of the masses, putting unelected parties in to office, putting the education of the youth of this country in jeopardy and forces by its own making, people who are caring and compassionate to take to the streets, only to be nearly killed by the police.

The date is fixed on the 20th of December, so everyone come down to London. We meet at Piccadilly Circus at 12:00 and then we are going through the central London streets, where the police will find it difficult to kettle us. Facebook event:

Downside of doing demos among traffic and the Xmas shoppers is there's tons of CCTV everywhere, upside is simple stuff like a winter scarf pulled over your face, baseball cap, reversible jacket or a plastic mac you don't mind binning on your way home etc makes most CCTV useless, especially after dark. As for all this bullshit about cops using water cannon - bring it on! I'd like to see the twats trying to manouevre a water cannon through rush hour traffic in Regent Street, they couldn't even get the vans through the other day leaving the few plod who are fit enough to keep up with teenagers weighed down with 20 kilos of kit - no contest
Do the Met really want a reputation for attacking Xmas shoppers with water cannon
Best wishes to Alfie - get well soon lad

Police commandeer hospital!
11.12.2010 17:59
Can anyone in the area find out from the hospital which particular police officer commandeered the hospital, and which member of staff agreed.
It's only because of the ambulance driver insisting Alfie be seen that he wasn't refused entry and could possibly have died.

If you were not already disgusted with the police, this should make you sick.
