London Metropolitan University is now occupied

London Met occupation communique
London Met occupation communique

Students, who occupied building 9pm last night, would love people to go down, get involved and support the occupation. University staff and security seem on board, as
yet no dialogue with management.

Desperately need banner making material, and people, so if you have time and stuff get down there.

London Met (North Campus),
Rocket-Student Office and corridor,
166-220 Holloway Road,
London N7 8DB
Tube: Holloway Road (piccadilly line) concrete/glass tower block left as you come out of the tube opposite side of the road.

Occupiers desperately need:
banner material, speakers, organizers, food, refreshment, cigarettes, paints,
paper A4, A3, A5 WHATEVER. colour pencils. whatever u can get.
megaphones etc, solidarity. Get down any time

Students occupying a university is akin to sick people occupying a hospital.. Completely and uttely pointless, media-less, stunt thats going nowhere fast.
Not as if you are occupying the town hall is it ?
Who is put out... thats right you ?
If this is all the new generation can come up with we are all screwed.

A call for calm!

Can I make the proposal that, rather than flying into an angry tirade at an obvious troll/idiot, and engaging him in a pointless debate, which he is doomed to lose, but never concede, we keep our comments on this thread limited to offering massive support to the students at London Met, as well as students everywhere, who are showing the rest of us how to put the boot in and send shockwaves through the fragile con-dem coalition.

Around my workplace, and the workplaces of other union/activist freinds of mine, we are hearing nothing but praise for the student actions, and this is from ordinary people, who two months ago didn't give a shit about current affairs. Public perception of the cuts as a necessity, and of the pro-rich con dem coalition is shifting our way fast, and we have the students, in part to thank for that.

Fucking excellent guys - keep up the great work!

Have you ever read the emperors new clothes Sab ?
so speaking the truth is Trolling now is it...
The simple truth is occupying "your own buildings" in which the general public never visit is not going to do anything, produce anything or even mildly inconvenience anyone or anything.
The decision was a idiotic one, a complete and utter waste of time and energy and free publicity.
The proof of the pudding ???
Who cares if you are hold up in the university, Ill tell you who, everybody who is glad you are not disrupting something that bothers the general public and happiest of all, the government.
So before you troll anyone, show some respect CHILD and remember how quickly we dispelled the poll tax on your behalf. Also take note, you can not make an omelette without breaking eggs.
If you want to change anything, get off your arses and out of the ruddy UNI !
