At 11am today, Monday 30 November, supporters of Belal Amleh and Suzanne Allott rallied at the Government Office for the North East, Gallowgate, Newcastle.

Friends and supporters of Belal and Suzanne gathered to hand in letters urging the government to stop the forced removal of Belal Amleh, partner of Suzanne Allott. Belal, who has previously been imprisoned and tortured by the Israeli authorities, faces extreme danger if forcibly removed from the UK. Despite this, the Home Office have scheduled his removal tomorrow on flight RJ112 to Jordan, for onward transportation.

A bundle of letters of support from members of the local community and fellow Newcastle University students and graduates were handed into the government offices, for collection by Mr Colin Flynn, the local assistant director of UK Border Agency Operations.
