Google backs Bristol’s Small Businesses

Google UK Director returns back to Bristol for a guest appearance at the African & Caribbean Big Business Breakfast.
As part of Global Entrepreneurship Week, local community group African & Caribbean Young Enterprise is hosting a Big Business Breakfast and offering the region’s local business owners the chance to make contact and share ideas with a broad network of entrepreneurs.
Philip Miles Director of Google UK, originally hailing from Backwell, Bristol views this event a homecoming having grown up in Bristol and still having family living in the city.
Philip worked in London for fifteen years starting in traditional media at the Guardian Media Group and then as Group Sales Director of Maiden Outdoor Advertising PLC.
Representing the national initiative ‘Getting British Business online’ Phil said “I made the jump to online and haven't looked back to the extent I now feel like a digital native!”
Phil will be discussing the opportunity the internet represents for small businesses and how to use Google as a Brand Communication Tool.
Co-Founder of the ACYE online initiative Karl Belizaire will also be talking about how to harness the power of social media for business.
It’s also a big opportunity for anyone thinking of starting a business to learn how they can grow online, and even get a free website and start-up advice courtesy of Getting British Business Online.
