Four suspected illegal immigrants were arrested yesterday during a dawn raid on the flagship Hamleys store in Regent Street, central London.

They conducted a search of all seven floors of the shop and eventually rounded up 14 suspects - in the teddy bear shop section of the store.

Acting on a tip-off officials and police arrested two Brazilian men, a Nigerian man and a Ghanaian woman who work for the contractor Crystal Cleaning Services, based in Essex.

A spokesman for the UK Border Agency said the four cleaners could be deported from Britain. Their employer could also face a fine of up to £10,000 per illegal worker.
