Everyone complain now about the mass deer cull in Richmond Park

Animal rights activist | 04.11.2010 11:31

Every year around 200 deer and killed in Richmond Park. The Park authority claims this cull is necessary to control deer numbers. But there are other ways to control the deer population such as food based contraception and relocating deer. It seems this deer cull has little to do with controlling deer numbers and more to do with providing posh restaurants with expensive deer meat.

For the past few nights animal rights activists have been patroling the park to prevent the shooting of deer. We plan to continue until this practice is permantly stopped.
Everyone can complain about the deer slaughter to the Richmond Royal Parks here:

There are millions starving and dying in the world and you're worried about a few little fluffy deer?

Your priorities are seriously fucked up.

@Humanist:

There are millions starving and dying in the world and you're worried about postings in Indymedia and what other people do with their time to help stop suffering?

Your priorities are seriously fucked up.

Stop trolling and get back to your work of saving the world from starvation and dying. I look forward to hearing about your valiant attempts.

one struggle one fight? Really now...

Except it's not one struggle one fight is it. C'mon everyone on Indy knows what the typical animal rights folk are like, they pump their single issue campaign as hard as they can but when it comes to Faslane, stopping new coal mines, EDO, protesting government cuts, protesting Israeli war crimes, where the hell are you all? No where to be seen.

To busy enjoying your cushy middle class lifestyles to give a shit about anything other than 'animal rights'. Cry a fucking waterfall when your mates get locked up but where's the support for other campaigners who've fallen on the wrong side of the law? You're deafly silent then.

Single issue mentality, don't give a shit about anything else and if you dare put forward a critique then your a troll or Nazi. Lately promoting Pizza hut on Indymedia cos they want them to create a vegan Pizza. Thats the measure of their global political concern (and understanding). I was involved in animal rights for some time but had to get out because of the narrow mindness of most involved and as you say you never ever see them showing any concern for the real issues which is why they are classed as middle class weirdos..

EDO nationals would be far smaller if it wasn't for AR activists, the amount of AR people I see at them is amazing - same with other causes, but we never see any solidarity back - it's all one way. If AR people didn't turn out for an EDO national sometime maybe then you'd actually notice.

We don't go around saying 'we are animal rights people and we are helping a human rights cause today' - maybe we should?

One fight!
