Brookside has 2 Anniversarys this week, its 28th since starting back in 1982 & its 7th Anniversary since it ended in 2003.
BROOKSIDE fans around the world are suffering a seven year itch - to mark the anniversary of the end of the Channel Four soap.
It's been exactly seven years since the iconic and ground breaking series ended on our screens but now it may be making a comeback.
Brookside broke new ground with it's gritty storylines including TV first lesbian kiss and the body under the patio murder saga.
Now thousands of fans of the Scouse soap have signed an online petition to have classic episodes released on DVD.
But because of a row between Channel Four and Mersey TV - original creators of the show - releasing the DVD is tied up in red tape.
Brookside fan and organiser of the Campaign, Lee Brady said: " Its getting closer to the 30th Anniversary which Phil Redmond did say he had something up his sleeve for Brookside on this anniversary. But fans have been Campaigning since 2007 for some of the Classics to be put out on dvd to watch, We would also welcome a new Spin off to find out where each Family ended up after Brookside ended".
Former soap favourite Dean Sullivan who played Jimmy Corkhill added: " I would love to be involved in any initiative to keep the Brookside name alive."
Other Cast members have also expressed their support to back the Campaign including Mickey James (Lance), Suzanne Collins (Nikki Shadwick), Louis Emerik (Mick Johnson), Bryan Murray (Trevor Jordache) & Steven Fletcher who played as Ste Murrey to name but a few.
Phil Redmond also has something up his sleave for th3 30th Anniversary in 2 years time.
