Massive anti-Afghan war demonstration, Sat, Nov 20, central London.

There will be a massive anti-Afghan war demonstration in central London on Saturday the 20th of November. The demonstration will assemble at Hyde Park near Marble Arch at 12noon and at 1pm will set off for Trafalgar Square. This demonstration is to demand the immediate return of all UK troops from Afghanistan. The government is currently spending 5 billion a year on that war while cutting services at home.

We will be saying money for welfare not for warfare. And demand that the government listens to the majority of the people who want an end to this war as soon as possible. More details of the demonstration are here:

Demonstrating is one thing, actually doing something is quite another.

Your government knows full well that you don't want the war. But it also knows, from experience, that you are not prepared to do anything that your government declares "illegal".

It knows that you are a group of people, who by and large are, deeply committed to "socialism" (statism) and that you would not threaten the workings of "society" (social hierarchy aka. the state).

For those reasons your "government" (owners) will consider you "good" subservient citizens, and ignore you, rather than "criminal" anarchists, and pore lots of resources into attempting to defeat or diminish you.

So everyone should boycott this event and let the pro-war brigade go unopposed? Demonstrating is useless? Why did anarchists demonstrate against the G20 last year in central London then? Why do you anarchists have to be against everything that the left does? Why not take part and organise your own actions on the day to coincide with the main anti-war protests?

Join the "white flag revolution" that day and blockade Whitehall - bring tents and provisions. We are not going away. This is an opportunity to take part in real civil disobedience and make a stand. Keep eyes out for more info and keep networking this idea.
