Islamist radicalisation at British universities
A Quilliam Foundation report
Study highlights intimidation of women, Jewish, gay and Muslim students
London, UK - 29 October 2010
The Quilliam Foundation's latest briefing paper, Radicalisation on British University Campuses: A case study, cites hate incidents at City University in London during the last academic year (September 2009 - June 2010).
The report suggests that academic institutions can become incubators for extremist, intolerant and potentially violent forms of the political ideology of Islamism.
Links to an executive summary and the full report are listed below.
Responding to the Quilliam report, human rights campaigner Peter Tatchell, of the LGBT rights group OutRage!, said:
"This report is a wake-up call to complacent university authorities and student unions. They too often look the other way while Islamists foment hatred and intolerance among the student population.
"The vast majority of Muslim students do not share an extremist mindset. They risk
ostracism and denunciation by fundamentalists.
"Quilliam have produced a commendable expose of the way Islamist fanatics are bullying and threatening other students. It highlights sexist, homophobic and anti-Semitic intimidation, and the victimisation of Muslims and non-believers who do not adhere to hard-line fundamentalist Islam.
"Radicalisation often begins with the promotion of misogynistic, queer-baiting and anti-Jewish prejudice; together with the stirring up of hostility against Muslims who believe in other strands of Islam or who have abandoned their faith. Such intolerance is can be a gateway to Islamist extremism. That's why it should never be ignored or tolerated. City University would never host white supremacists who incite racism and racial violence. Why the double standards?" queried Mr Tatchell.
Here are examples of Islamist extremists who have been hosted at City University:

A spokesperson the Quilliam Foundation said:
"University campuses have been recognised by policy-makers as key places where Islamist ideologies can spread, but the processes of radicalisation involved have often remained unclear. This paper seeks to address this knowledge gap by identifying the factors on a university campus that may contribute to radicalising an individual towards Islamist-inspired terrorism. Whilst the paper does not suggest that everyone exposed to these factors will become a terrorist, it shows how and why exposure to them can increase the risk of radicalisation towards terrorism as well as illustrating the considerable disruption that such radicalisation can have on campus life.
"The paper concludes with specific recommendations for universities, students' unions and government to prevent similar situations from arising on other university campuses.
"Radicalisation on British University Campuses' is the latest of Quilliam's publications to deal with areas where the risk of radicalisation is either high or is poorly understood. Previous reports released in the last year include studies of radicalisation in prisons and on Arabic-language jihadist websites."

Islam encourages hate towards gays as well as hate towards western society, women in the mosques, with hate preachers. So, I would like to see a minimum standard of behaviour forced upon them. With arrests and prosecutions if necessary.
Likewise with christianity inculcating hate in the minds of christians towards gays, in catholic and evangelical churches. AS we have recently seen in the US with gay kids being driven to suicide, being both bullied by religious school colleagues and by their own internalised homophobia and self hate - we as a society cannot stand back any longer and allow religious hatred to run amok.
A Secular Society like ours has the right to demand civilised behaviour from religious loons. We say to them- You can be religious if you insist but you don't have the right to be hateful, so as you've proved yourselves incapable of behaving in a civilised fashion we have to reign you in. And if that means a policeman standing in the church or mosque listening and taking notes, then so be it.

You absurd pro-islamist lefty homophobes will tie yourselves up in such knots of illogic that you'll convince yourselves that up is down and red is green and that gays are fascists and muslim homophobes are the fucking good guys- that gays are bourgeois decadents oppressing the poor third world because these noisy gays demand that muslim states stop hanging gay teenagers from cranes!
Fucking madness.
Fascism bad, but brown fascism good, - this should be your mantra.
When that tosser Ken Livingstone was mayor I went to the Pride event in Trafalgar Square to find on the stage a woman dressed in the full fucking black body stocking outfit screaming, yes screaming, at the assembled and bemused audience of gays and lesbians that they were all racists for not liking islam, that islam was not homophobic, that islam was nice and cuddly and cool. It didn't seem to convince any of the audience. But this is what we are not having to deal with with this lefty homophobia - we are told we are shit by religion, that we are objectively disordered by the Pope, that we are shit by white trash, that we shit by black evangelical churches, kicked, beaten and bullied at school - then we come on our one day of celebration of our sexuality and are screamed at by a representative by the most homophobic religion on the planet for being anti-islam.
The modern left in Britain is the most vile, morally bankrupt group of wankers I have ever come across.
Look you tossers if gays are not persecuted then the word "persecuted' has lost all meaning.

Islamaphobic authoritarian nonsense

As to whether "gays are fascists" - there are several prominent gays who have been quite open about their fascist political beliefs so it is not absurd to suggest that gays can be fascists any more than it is to suggest that Muslims can be fascists. No one is suggesting that "Muslim homophobes are the good guys" but that perhaps that not all Muslims are homophobes. Is that allowed or is it just more "overintellectualised wank"? Perhaps I'm just a "brown fascist" for suggesting that.
Out of interest, if Peter Tatchell is such a right-on, PC guy, what do you think provoked those Nigerian LGBTI activists to call his activities 'neo-colonial'? Don't you think that's something that should be taken seriously? What do you think about the gay press' celebration of the war on terror?
Anti-authoritarians should be very distrustful of the kind of politics that people like 'Queer' are peddling. Just like Bush and Blair they want to liberate the poor brown women and gays with bullets, bombs and secret police.

30.10.2010 09:55
"...a protest by Peter Thatchell and Outrage! which occurred not 2 weeks before the YHBW shoot, on 1st October, at the Music Of Black Origins (MOBO) award ceremony at nearby London Arena – just two minutes walk from the Samuda estate. Placards included “Black singers! Stop bashing gays!” and “MOBO = Music Of Bigoted Origin”. The equation of “Black” with “Bigoted” and a blanket appeal to all 'black singers' to stop 'bashing gays' is clearly racist.
Thatchells article about the protest on the website “flameout.org” also reflect this obvious weakness in their campaign. He specifically claims that the BBC have never shown white supremacist views on cultural grounds. This is blatantly false and most of us know that the BBC has a very racist history which includes controversies such as the Black and White Minstrel Show to more recent airings of the BNP and other white supremacists in for example the White season. Thatchell's racism is clearer later in the article when he compares the killing of gay men in Jamaica to the actions of the Taliban in Afghanistan. The actions in Jamaica have not been conducted – supported maybe but not carried out – by the state. Just like gay men being killed in England – these actions are not carried out directly by the state. And he should be aware of the level of psychopathic violence against gays in this country because he himself is quoted in the 2005 BBC article “Gay man's killing 'tip of the iceberg'” which reported on the killing of barman Jody Dobrowski on Clapham Common in October 2005. Thatchell also claims that in “Britain” there are no “ no openly gay black super stars”. Well, don't tell Justin Fashanu who was the first professional footballer to declare his homosexuality and whose career was derailed by homophobia in English football. And while Thatchell then makes a reformist defence of 'freedom of speech' – on his terms – he ends his article with an appeal to the House of Lords Select Committee – another appeal to established white, adult, male power for more state control over the situation. So we know whose terms are his terms.
It is the Jamican Gay group J-Flag that in their article on the Thatchell protest identify a clue to the roots of the psychopathy engendered in the situation. They write regarding Ted Brown – an gay activist from jamaica:
“Ted Brown was last in Jamaica a few years back. Its the only place I've ever been to where I had to go back into the closet, he says. That's after 35 years of being out. Brown sees several factors informing Jamaican homophobia. One is the macho desires of a lot of black men. They feel that being a black man requires them to be ultra masculine and one way of establishing this is to denigrate those who don't qualify. “
This goes back to the bipolarity of male/female that the transgendered is perhaps seeking to transcend. The appeal to human rights outlined in bourgeois art and politics however comes undone at this very point where human reproduction is clearly a superior form of creation to bourgeois production or artistic representation. And while the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights (1948, articles 16[I] and 16 [III]) states that “Men and women of full age without any limitation due to race, nationality or religion have the right to marry and to found a family ... the family is the natural and fundamental group unit of society." the 'right' to a family is not really extended fully to gay men or women. It was precisely this situation that Peter Thatchells most well known campaign against the Church of England was addressing. The ability of people to live and love together and to bring up children together. The issue is still of course very controversial in the church – especially in the USA. However, in appealing to the established institutions of white male power, Thatchell's campaign overlooks the real situation in many peoples lives – especially those outside the church and outside white power – ie outside his own cultural spheres.
If we consider bourgeois cultural assumptions on 'human nature' which place intellectual efforts above physical efforts we can see that the continutation of bourgeois chauvinism against working classes, non-Europeans and indeed gay and transgendered people which follows a monotheistic denigration of sexual pleasure as 'animalistic'.
The history of anti-black racism and white supremacism is precisely based on reproductive control – most notoriously in South Africa and USA where laws have been passed to stop interracial reproduction. This has also been historically justified on the grounds of black people being not only a different race but a different species. In doing so, black men and women were denied their own humanity. This is one of the historical causes of an over-compensation in defending the power to reproduction – as a male or as a female – which is not just found in some modern, proletarian black culture but also often in many working class proletarian cultural situations generally.

Who are these people?
30.10.2010 10:09
So why do we get these Tories and Republicans making comments? Some of them find it difficult to make an argument without making their right-wing sentiments clear. So, why are they regularly viewing Leftie websites?
Well, OK, we know the answer. Some people are paid by governments and think-tanks to go on websites to check, neutralize and re-direct progressive thinking.
But we can see that some of them do try to dress themselves up as Lefties to do this. They try to win people over by doing this. In this case, they use Gay rights to push an anti-Muslim agenda.
Peter Tatchell used to be a sincere progressive. He was a member of the socialist Briefing group in the Labour Party. But what’s happened to him? He was viciously attacked by Labour leaders and the media when he stood for Parliament in the 1980s. He may not have been able to depend on the Left to defend him. This must have made his life hell. Making a living would have been a struggle. So, some think tank must have stretched out a helping hand. They told him how he could use his commitment. So then he goes Green. And then turns up attacking Zimbabwe when Western political elites were angry with Zanu-PF. Now, he’s using his Gay rights credentials to front for a government funded charity.
So, we have ‘left-wing’ Peter Tatchell and a bunch of right-wingers protecting this Quilliam Foundation report. Odd or what?

Jasbir Puar LIED

http://www.rawnervebooks.co.uk/Peter_Tatchell.pdf
Jasbir Puar has been described as "a key theorist of postcolonial sexuality" - she isn't, she WAS a minor career intellectual of the sort who thinks a working knowledge of postmodernist language confers expertise in issues of which they have no real practical knowledge. NOW however, she's discredited. I've read Jasbir Puar's (deeply pretentious) writing, and to cut a long story short her lifestyle seems to consist of milking academic funding routes to produce vanity publications (her work is produced by academic publishers, but she funds the publication of her books from her research grants) that do little more than stir shit in left, liberal, humanist and civil-rights circles, needlessly finding fault with people who've contributed far more to society than she has. IMHO people like her need to get the fuck out and agitate against Fascists of all stripes on the street, where you can get arrested or beaten up (like Peter Tatchell has been, many times) because at the moment she's getting paid to wreck things for people who've worked harder and contributed far more than she has.
As for the Quilliam Foundation report - Islamist groups like Hizb-ut Tahrir, Al-Muhajiroun and their numerous front organisations were founded by followers of the wartime Grand Mufti of Jerusalem - the man who recruited Bosnian Muslims for the (stunningly brutal) SS Handschar Division (whose major task was hunting, killing and torturing Anti-Fascist partisans), and who broadcast the Arab language radio propaganda for the Nazis. These groups are also the reason we now have the EDL. Speaking as someone who's nearly come to blows with these fuckers on several occasions, the left need to stop making excuses about these wankers and (like Peter Tatchell) confront Islamo-Fascism head on

Yeah, right, so that's why Indymedia had a celebratory piece about the islamic fascist the president of Iran visting the lebanon????
Yes?
And I condemned the moral bankruptcy of the modern left that cannot see anything wrong with this being posted on Indymedia and I gave a list from Amnesty relaying the horrors inflicted on the Iranian people I was accused of being a black ops puppet of the CIA, and Amnesty's catalogue of horrors was dismissed as a product of anti-iranian CIA orchestrated conspiracy in support of Israel.
It would be laughable if it weren't so fucking serious.
The modern british left has lost all sense of moral right or wrong, it's lost its moral compass.
And so have you, Simon. If you really honestly don't think that gay people have the right to protest homophobia whether it comes from muslims, arabs or africans or whoever then you should get yourself a new moral compass and think very hard about what you want from the world. Brown skinned homopobia is just as vile as white skinned homophobia

We have a Left-wing commentator who knows about Muslim Brotherhood collaboration with Nazis but not the more recent collaboration with the CIA and British intelligence.
And what did General Pervez Musharraf say on Radio 4 recently when he launched his new political party (in London): ‘without the training and finance of the West, violent Islam would not exist’.
John Joseph Loftus (February 12, 1950, Boston, Massachusetts) is an American author, former US government prosecutor and former Army intelligence officer. He says:
http://archive.frontpagemag.com/readArticle.aspx?ARTID=11146
The Muslim Brotherhood began to expand in scope and influence during World War II. They even had a Palestinian section headed by the grand Mufti of Jerusalem, one of the great bigots of all time. Here, too, was a man - - The grand Mufti of Jerusalem was the Muslim Brotherhood representative for Palestine. These were undoubtedly Arab Nazis. The Grand Mufti, for example, went to Germany during the war and helped recruit an international SS division of Arab Nazis. They based it in Croatia and called it the “Handjar” Muslim Division, but it was to become the core of Hitler's new army of Arab fascists that would conquer the Arab peninsula from then on to Africa -- grand dreams.
At the end of World War II, the Muslim Brotherhood was wanted for war crimes. Their German intelligence handlers were captured in Cairo. The whole net was rolled up by the British Secret Service. Then a horrible thing happened.
Instead of prosecuting the Nazis - - the Muslim Brotherhood - - the British government hired them. They brought all the fugitive Nazi war criminals of Arab and Muslim descent into Egypt, and for three years they were trained on a special mission. The British Secret Service wanted to use the fascists of the Muslim Brotherhood to strike down the infant state of Israel in 1948. Only a few people in the Mossad know this, but many of the members of the Arab Armies and terrorist groups that tried to strangle the infant State of Israel were the Arab Nazis of the Muslim Brotherhood.
Britain was not alone. The French Intelligence service cooperated by releasing the Grand Mufti and smuggling him to Egypt, so all of the Arab Nazis came together. So, from 1945 to 1948, the British Secret Service protected every Arab Nazi they could, but they failed to quash the State of Israel...
