update: the edl demo is banned by the mayor to the midle of nowhere in the western docklands after an good media campagne and grassroots organising by amsterdam afa.
its waiting now to see if they will accept but the mayor made it very clear that any EDL (or AFA for that matter) that demonstrators outside their designated area will be arrested (and in case of the edl "kicked back on the boat they came from", the mayors words)
AFA still puts out an alert too opose EDL actvity over the whole weekend (there is talk that the EDL will seek an court rulling too get their central demo location back) but is faced with an emergency "restraining" order. An UAF like protest is allowed in the center of town at the old synagoge at the feet of the remembrance statue for the 1941 general strikers.
Ajax tifosi and migrant youth have vowed to give the EDl canal swimming lessons if they show up in town mob-handed.

Antifa!-Amsterdam and AntiFascistische Aktie-Nederland noted the remarks in the media today by mayor van der about the forced relocation of the for this Saturday planned demonstration by the fascist English Defence League and the emergency order he will be enforcing too prevent counter actions.
Research on the internet fora of the English and Dutch Defence make very clear that they are not planning to accept their relocation too the middle of nowhere in the western docklands without an fight. The red arrow is the official demonstration by the EDL, generatorweg.
The black arrow is Sloterdijk railway station where AJAX hooligans want to stage their own demonstration against the EDL.
The dutch equivalent of UAF will demonstrate at the Jonas Daniel Meijerplein, next to Waterlooplein metro station (not marked on the map).
The original location of the edl demo is the museumplein, they may show up there anyway.

With only 60 EDL members daring to make the trip and reports of stiff opposition from Dutch AFA/Antifa and Ajax fans it seems that the bragging of ther EDL has come to nothing
To make matters worse the van carrying EDL members from the West Mids - allegedly containing Tommy Robinson aka Stephen Yaxley Lennon - had its windscreen smashed by Dutch anti-fascists
Discussions on the EDL forum have shown EDL members panicking over the reaction they will get in the Dam and urging members to behave and stay together/hide colours etc.
Just shows that the EDL are the typical playground bullies of the political scene
Numbers in your favour? Smash up towns, threaten innocent families in restaurants, attack mosques (and non-muslim Hundu temples) and threaten lone black people.
Odds looking less favourable? Stay at home, or be unobtrusive, hide the flag/EDL colours you are allegedly so proud of, and as one Dutch fascist advised them, "stay close to the police".
