A FREE screening for Black History Month!
What does it mean to be Black and gay in the UK?
Jaime Sylla's new film explores the life experiences of a group of men who all too often have been rendered invisible in history and stigmatised by their own communities because of their sexuality and race. Focusing on a range of Black gay men of different ages and cultural backgrounds, Beyond Labels looks at how racism and homophobia can impact upon the construction of a healthy Black and gay identity. The 60min documentary will be followed by a Q/A session. Everybody welcome!
Sunday 31st October, 7.30pm. Free entry - info on 0117 924 4512 or info@pieriancentre.com. Screening takes place at the Pierian Centre, 27 Portland Square, St Pauls, Bristol BS2 8SA.
