Boris Johnson, the ‘London mayor’ has been told this morning [Sunday 17 October 2010] to reverse the forbidding ticket prices for the 2012 Games that most East Enders won't be able to afford. Boris has been told to issue an immediate position statement, setting out where he stands on the tickets price exclusion.
Campaigners are now finalising the schedule of events that will begin VERY SOON.
The key aim of this new camapign is to get Sebastian Coe and his co-holders of the relevant 2012 Hosting Establishment posts to withdraw the prices and to declare that pastorate arrangements are being made to let in people from the area who can't afford these high tickets.
It has been revealed that in their frantic publicity events prior to bagging the 2012 Hosting bid for London, Seb Coe and Co had not hesitated to use many images and a few youngsters 'from' the East End to get across the message of 'inclusion'. The tickets prices snub has led one campaign group to brand Seb Coe SNUB COE.
There is a community mobilisation afoot. Watch this space.
