Solidarity demos at HLS

SHAC | 10.10.2010 12:27 | SHAC | Animal Liberation | Ecology | Repression | Cambridge

On 21st and 22nd October 2010 the second lot of sentencing of SHAC activists from the 2007 raids takes place at Winchester Crown Court. Solidarity demos will take place at the gates of both HLS laboratories in the UK.

Huntingdon Life Sciences is a contract testing laboratory who test everything from artificial sweetener to fridge coolants, from artificial colourings to pesticides and GM foods on helpless but fully sentient beings.

HLS bedfellows have included nearly every creepy murderous multinational known and have included Bayer, Roche, Cargill, Union Carbide and Shell.

The demonstrations are to show outrage that HLS is positively encouraged to commit atrocities whilst activists who have spoken out face prison and to make it very clear that we have not abandoned the victims of violence and terror who face a terrible fate at HLS.

These demonstrations have been pre arranged with the police for very good reasons and please note that cars have to be parked some distance away from both sites (about a 20 minute walk) so if anyone needs a lift from where you will park up please let us know and allow time to park up and walk. People can be dropped off by drivers who can then park up and walk back. HLS Wooley especially is always very cold, please dress very warmly and bring hot drinks. We strongly advise not arriving before 12.00 at the gates again for very good reasons. Please bring banners.

21st October 2010 12.00-18.00 HLS Occold is near the village of Occold near Eye in Suffolk and the lab' is signposted.

22nd October 2010 12.00-18.00 HLS Wooley near Huntingdon is just off the A1 first left after the A14/A1 roundabout.

Mobile number for both days is 07891 639803

If sentencing continues into Monday 25th October another demo' will take place at another location near to Huntingdon which will be posted Friday evening.
