A chant for the tuneful @ the anti-tory demo

(A) Sab x | 01.10.2010 14:49 | Social Struggles | Workers' Movements

A tune for the more soulful protestors on the march this Sunday - let's make it our anthem!

Get yer fathers gun (to the tunes of 'when I was just a little girl')

When I was just a little boy/girl

I asked my mother,

What should I be?

Should I vote Tory?

This is what she said to me -

"Wash your mouth with soap,

Get yer fathers gun,

And shoot some tory scum,

Shoot some tory scum!"

What will it achieve?

Wow, you can chant, but what will it achieve?

We need to rip the Tory bastards apart, not sing pretty songs at them.

But

agree

chants do nothing, they like us chanting means we not doing anything, look at Germany, Greece France an so on , they kick off.
we don't we sit or chant.
time we got a grip and licked off big time. if we all did at a demo of a large size that is a bigger statement than " as slogan repeated etc. etc

oi oi

For fucks sake....!

It's just an old football chant (replacing the words Luton/Oxford with Tory). I didn't think it'd start a discourse on tactics from some humorless bastards!!!

AH - yer, I am predjudiced against the Tories and their ilk. So what?!

in my experiences both here and in other EU countries, the greeks/french who are kicking off also have *far better chants*, they also shout them with passion and enthusiasm rarely heard this side of the channel!

Maybe chants, and kicking off go hand in hand. deployed at the right times obviously.
