Friends of the Earth Sheffield have organised a month long Green Film Festival starting from October 13. Please feel free to pop down and watch a film and invite your friends along too.

Sheffield Friends of the Earth invites you to a FREE* Green Sheffield Film Festival with after-film drinks and discussions with leading
experts from the University of Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam University.

All films will be shown at the University of Sheffield Medical School, Lecture Theatre 1, Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Glossop Road, Sheffield S10 2JF

*The event is free but a donation of £1 is suggested

The End of the Line - Wednesday 13 October 6:30 pm

The End of the Line is the first major feature documentary film revealing the impact of overfishing on our oceans. Filmed across the world – from the Straits of Gibraltar to the coasts of Senegal and Alaska to the Tokyo fish market – featuring top scientists, indigenous fishermen and fisheries enforcement officials, The End of the Line is a wake-up call to the world.

Vanishing of the Bees - Wednesday 27 October 6:30 pm

Honeybees have been mysteriously disappearing across the planet, literally vanishing from their hives. In the UK, around one fifth of honeybee hives were lost in the winter 2008/09. Bees pollinate a third of the food we eat, and this contributes £200 million a year to the UK economy. End of Suburbia - Wednesday 3 November 6:30 pm
