Bullshit. Prove it

04.09.2010 21:50

Is any of the money from Israel products spent on killing palestinians?
Of course it fucking isn't

Yes some of the money is spent on killing Palestinians

05.09.2010 09:17

Some of the money spent on Israeli goods ends up in the hands of the Israeli companies that produced them. Some were produced on stolen Palestinian land too, as the Israelis have expanded beyond the 1967 borders with "settlements".

These Israeli companies pay taxes to the Israeli government, which spends a lot of money on the Israeli armed forces, which kill Palestinians regularly.

So, buying Israeli goods funds the killing of Palestinians, just as the cartoon shows.

Foaming at the mouth people should note that I said Israeli goods. I did not say that goods bought from businesses which happen to be run by Jewish people will fund the killing of Palestinians. Not all Jewish people support the Israeli state and the current government which prefers to keep violence going to keep itself in power. Some of the staunchest opponents of the Zionist project are Jewish people. With a business which happens to be run by Jewish people the issue is more complicated than Israeli goods/

pure coincidence!

Yes, it just so happens by a strange coincidence that the movement is chock full of raving, gibbering anti-semitic loons.

The cartoons, the boycotts, the libels, the denial, all the classic tropes of old-school anti-semitism coming from people who can't handle the thought that THEY might be part of an evil empire, that THEY might be benefitting from a rotten system, that selfishness and greed and evil is inside THEM just as much as anyone else.

No, far better to rant and rail at a small country far away in the middle east... which just *happens* to be Jewish.

@ knee jerk

The cartoon doesn't say anything about killing Palestinians anyway. Although this is certainly
a regular consequence of Israeli military repression in the ongoing occupation.

as usual

Pah!

As usual, someone appears who can assure us all that our opposition to israeli fascism and jewish extremism is fuelled by an irrational hatred that sublimely these two groups are free of.

Such valid, human centred opposition is reduced (in their eyes at least) to the simplistic rhetoric of the playground and the kenesset, where to be semitic is merely the function of being called jew, rather than of the historic reality of geography and thus encompassing all of the people of the region (and beyond) who hail from semitic peoples - but strangely rather few of those current squatters, whose origins do not.

Fortunately they engage in attempting to shout down the wind ...

Phew!

Thank god the mods are here to protect us from the dangers of debate! Phew! Imagine the consequences should anyone have access to a variety of opinions - they might actually join in, or worse, make up their own minds! Hardly the sort of free thinking approach we want on Indymedia I think you'll agree.
