The motion for the debate will be:

REASONS WHY IT SHOULD NOT BE INCLUDE: -

Benedict XVI has returned pro Nazi Bishops to the Vatican.
Benedict XVI has covered up and protected in every way possible hundreds of Bishops, Priest and Nuns accused of child rape, molestation and abuse.

A group of Catholics formed to put the Church's case during Pope Benedict's visit will later this week oppose the

'Protest the Pope' coalition at a debate organised by the Central London Humanist Group and the British Humanist Association.

Catholic Voices will oppose the motion: 'The papal visit should not be a state visit' during a debate chaired by Polly Toynbee on Wednesday 1 September at 6.30pm at Conway Hall, 25 Red Lion Square, London WC1R 4RL.

The motion will be proposed by the human rights campaigner Peter Tatchell and the philosopher AC Grayling. It will be opposed by the patron of Catholic Voices, Fr Christopher Jamison OSB, and its coordinator, Dr Austen Ivereigh.

'Protest the Pope' is backed by the National Secular Society and a number of humanist associations, as well as the gay rights group Outrage!

Catholic Voices is an "authoritative but unofficial" team of 20 speakers who have been preparing for the papal visit with media skills training and briefings on issues likely to be discussed during the 16-19 September visit to the UK of Pope Benedict XVI. The project was profiled on yesterday's BBC R4's 'Sunday' programme, which also featured a curtain-raiser debate between Tatchell and Ivereigh.

The following evening, 2 September, Catholic Voices will be officially launched to the media at a press reception.

Why not protest extremist Islam too?

Oh but that would be racist and anyone who speaks out against extremist Islam is a fascist, zionist, racist.

Reality check

Er, people do protest extremist Islam too. No one here has a problem with groups that do that, unless, like the EDL, they are just a thinly-veiled front for Zionists, racists, and fascists.

All religion is a pile of shit: Islam, Judaism, Christianity included.

You might want to get your reality checker seen to - it doesn't appear to be working properly.

"Why not protest extremist Islam too?

Because that requires waiving of the Israeli flag, nazi salutes and generally being odious. It also requires a profound stupidity over immediate history. Radical Islam is a product of western sponsored terrorism and invasion.

You seem to be operating under the delusion we at IM are completely objective, we are not and have never claimed to be. We are independent, our tactic is the truth. Objectivity is simply a tactic of the mainstream media, it is used as a call to inaction. Continuously taking both sides might seem fair and civilised to you, but it is just a very good way to sterilise yourself.

You need to think about the people a little more, and the state a little less!

Is an Islamic leader coming to Britain with the Pope?

I didn't know that.

All religion engenders hate but the Pope is the leader of the most corrupt, pro fascist group in history.

Now they are getting away with mass child rape and abuse just like they did with supporting Hitler and stirring up the horrific mass murder in Rwanda.

They get away with murder....literally.
