No zoo can provide a "natural" environment for animals but the Jungle Zoo is especially inadequate, and has been exposed in a number of damning investigations as an animal welfare disaster. A number of demonstrations have been held at the zoo in recent months and flyers have been distributed in the town centre, but the site has been started to provide a central place for demo reports and other news to be posted.

A group did a demo on Saturday, and found very few people going inside. The “Concrete Jungle” is clearly struggling, so it’s more important than ever to apply pressure and speed up its closure.
