Radical thinking engineer, Jacque Fresco, wants to talk

The Venus Project is coming to Bristol!
Jacque Fresco the social engineer, industrial designer, author, lecturer, futurist, inventor, and the creator of The Venus Project will be flying into the UK from Venus, Florida, USA to present a the idea that poverty is caused by the stifling of progress in technology, which he believes is due to the outdated money-based economy...
Have you ever wondered or thought about why? Why does hunger, war, poverty and crime still exist on this planet despite the efforts of hundreds of well-meaninged organisations and perhaps millions of people working diligently to try and fix these? Why are governments not making any tangible in-roads on solving any of the real, physical problems we face like environmental damage, getting off the fossil fuel addiction, the measurably growing gap of the haves and the have nots and global human rights to name but a few? Why are we, as a general population becoming 'dumber' despite living at a time where mankind holds more knowledge than ever before in history? Why is no one asking these real questions? Could it be that the solution is so 'out of the box' that very few have the courage to even suggest it?

One such person is Jacque Fresco. Jacque is the founder of The Venus Project, named after the town near his home in Venus Florida. He has been an industrial designer, social engineer and futurist for most of his 94 years with answers to the above questions. Finally, after over 50 years, people are finally listening to his vision. At last, concurrent events (serious global environmental damage, growing population explosions, leaps in technology, unprecedented communication abilities, a world that is virtually bankrupt, etc) in our common human history are converging to create circumstances which not only make his vision feasible, but imperative to consider for the very survival of our species.

Due to the growing number of people concerned with the above mentioned problems (and more), Jacque was invited to embark on a World Lecture Tour this year which started in Colombia in April and has carried on through New Zealand, Australia, India, Japan, Greece, United Kingdom and is currently continuing throughout the European continent and will eventually culminate in Canada at the end of October. His stop in England is coming up on August 21st for one lecture in Bristol at the Victoria Halls. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to listen, discuss and ask questions up close and in person of this charismatic and enlightened man and his vision. The Venus Project has inspired a grass-roots following of nearly half a million people who are now also raising awareness, via the Zeitgeist Movement, to the root causes of the world's problems and working to implement changes to help bring about a society which is more up-to-date with present day knowledge.
