It's great the database is dismantled, but I'm sure it was for financial rather than ideological reasons. And I'm sure they will still try to keep tabs on people - they will just do it more secretly - private organisations like the old Economic League rather than governmental organisations?

You'd have to be very naïve to think you could slip anything more than a Rizla between the current ConLib government and the old NuLabour government when it comes to Big Brother practices.
