Servisair End the Importation of Lab Animals

National Anti-Vivisection Alliance (NAVA) | 26.07.2010 11:28 | Animal Liberation

SERVISAIR END LAB ANIMAL TRANSPORT!

Servisair have been involved in the importation of laboratory animals into the UK on a number of occassions, transporting beagle dogs in large numbers through Manchester Airport from Marshall Farms in New York and Europe. Dogs imported by them have been used in experiments at a number of labs, including Huntingdon Life Sciences, Covance, AstraZeneca and Charles River.

Following discussion with the company and their freight manager, we are now able to confirm that there is now a company policy in place to stop their involvement in the transport of animals destined for laboratories.

As one of the largest airport handling companies in the UK, this is excellent news and we welcome the decision from Servisair.

Be careful though, they have made this claim before and found out to be lying, so keep an eye on them.

We always keep a close eye on those who have lied in the past and always catch companies out, one of such companies is to be released in the coming days.

An email has been sent to us from a senior member of staff within Servisair, detailing the decision not to transport lab animals.

Confirmation is always good and enables others to help to spread the article.
