Sainsbury's application for Ashton Gate site to be considered at 6pm.
On 14 July Bristol City Council officers recommended planning permission be granted for a new Sainsbury’s regional superstore and internet distribution centre on the Bristol City Football Club ground at Ashton Gate.

The independent retail report for the Council concluded “we would expect some decline in the usage of North Street, less spending in the shops and some shops in direct competition would be vulnerable to closure”.

If you oppose the application and care about the future of small shops on North Street and East Street, please join us.

This application also has wider implications for customers of the existing Sainsbury's store on Winterstoke Road, who would no longer be able to use it. They may not want or be able to travel to the proposed relocated store.
