EDL Fascists Hijack GMTV Burkha Ban Poll

The insiduously racist EDL have successfully used social networking site to hoodwink GMTV, distorting public opinion to make it appear that almost everybody in the United Kingdom wants a racist version of fashion police to patrol the streets harrassing the devout minority of Muslim who wear the religious facial garment.

GMTV have been stupid to run a poll on the internet that has been attacked by the EDL's ring of professional racists. Together, via email and Facebook messages, the EDL have posted numerous votes against Asian women being allowed to wear the burkha in the United Kingdom.

The EDL's Facebook site has been openly boasting about how they have manipulated the voxpop poll, and they have allowed their members to post plenty of racist comments that as well as Britain banning items of Muslim clothing, they should also deport all Muslims from the UK: -

And (the equally racist loser) James Barrett calls for each and every EDL member to erase the cookies on their computers to vote upto 50 times each.

Thank goodness general and local elections are not run online or else the BNP would have got into parliament.

With the same upperclass capitalist millionairre who funds the Holocaust-denying Swedish Democrats, Alan Lake, pumping money into their Islamophobic campaigns, they are finding more ways to stick their tentacles of hate into all escehlons of British society, and they must be opposed by a broad unity of all radical political groups.

It's time to stop the in-fighting and recriminations, and destroy the riot-starting EDL before it gets out of hand.

Anybody who trolls on this and other sites trying stress that a handful of tokenistic self-loathing EDL members "of colour" are proof the EDL aren't racist need only remind everybody how the EDL's Facebook moderators refuse to ban the likes of Hugo Hurley and Sonny English N White from posting hardcore racist bile.

This type of propaganda method has been favoured in the past by many far right organisations, including the BNP/Nazi party/NF etc. They mobilise numbers to flood forums/message boards and newspaper comment pages to make it appear as if their opinions are widely held. When this is reported, people often think 'hey I don't think that, I must be in the minority. It must be credible otherwise so many wouldn't hold that opinion'.

Any research into propaganda will reveal this, and no surprise that the far right EDL are continuing this trend, only they are stupid enough to discuss this popular method on a public forum.

Even without the EDL voting the poll would have still gone in favour of banning. Demonisation by the mass media has successfully created a climate of fear and mistrust of muslims, created an us and them divide amongst not only the working class but also middle classes too. Muslims are seen to be here illegally, to be interfering with the British way of life, creating crime, taking jobs, and the burka is a visual representation of all of this something they can attack out of misplaced fear. Just look at the various headlines about muslims over the past five years, very few are ever positive. Over time that becomes ingrained in people.

So yes even without the EDL nuts voting in the poll it'd still have swung in favour of banning. Many also seem to forget that a sizeable proportion of the older generations in this country grew up when racism and distrust of other cultures was institutionalised and in some cases actually encouraged. That will have stayed with them for life. I used to work as a carer in a home for the elderly and racist views amongst the residents towards asian members of staff was commonplace, some residents would actually refuse to be assisted by non-white staff and these people still used to go out and vote come polling day in the elections. Scary stuff.

The real problem isn't the outward displays of racism by the EDL but the subtle kind which has become entrenched subconsciously in the general population.

No it wouldn't, it would simply have shown how little interest the public have in polls on minorities run by TV stations.

This 'poll' is simply an attempt by this station to jump on the bandwagon of what the French are doing. They do it because they are mindless inconsiderate goons.

We can't have that in this country because it doesn't work. Why would we want to tell women what they can and can't wear? Women fought for their emancipation and won the rights they now enjoy. If a muslim pious woman wants to wear a burkha she shouldn't need to ask the permission of a man who looks like he's got a sausage for a head and spends his time marching up and down the street trying to hide the fact that he's a secret Nazi!

And why are we, again, publicising the EDL. They are just white supremacist's. Shouldn't they be wearing white sheets and marching down the streets with burning crosses?

I've had a look at this and if you type English Defence League into Google you get around 6.5 million hits.

IM anarchists and UAF shares some of the responsibility for this!
