Statement on the EDL attending an antifascist meeting in Leeds.

The PR department of the EDL decided to attend our public meeting at the Swarthmore Centre in Leeds. The EDL obviously feels a blatant need to communicate that they are not racist. Taken in eyesight some members of the EDL are nothing more than alienated members of the working class playing the nationalist card. Yet, despite their pathetic appearance, the organized culturalist racism of the EDL feeds a bigoted nationalist agenda that poses a threat to our communities and has to be confronted. Whilst the bosses across the world pull the trigger of class war, for the EDL this attack is not one from above, but that of immigrants and foreign culture. Not only do their politics divide our communities, the nationalism of the EDL expresses a pseudo-rebellion of the white working class that identifies with their own exploiters. Their presence on the streets will not any longer be tolerated. Given the fact that the EDL articulated its plans to take the streets of Bradford, we herewith confirm that a counter protest of working class antifascists will take place on the 28th of August.
