Independence from America annual demonstration at Menwith Hill Sunday 4th July 2.00-7.00pm with Mark Thomas, Peter Tatchell Roy Bailey and loads of live music.

‘Independence FROM America’ DEMONSTRATION

Sunday 4 July 2010 – 2-7 ish pm

We ask that the demonstration is peaceful and without incident.

THE SAFETY, HEALTH AND WELL-BEING OF ALL ATTENDING THIS DEMONSTRATION IS OF THE UTMOST IMPORTANCE TO CAAB.

Quality vegetarian food

Before 2 pm: Gather outside main entrance to the American base at Menwith Hill

1.30 – 2.0 pm: Drumming workshop – facilitated by Steve Hill (Daftasadrum)

2 pm: Introduction by Martin Schweiger – Quaker, peace activist and doctor

2:10 pm: Public Reading of the Declaration of Independence FROM America – read by Peter Kenyon and Moira Hill (copies available)

2.15 – 2.45 pm: Mark Thomas (comedian and political activist)

2.45 – 3.15pm: Roy Bailey (socialist folk musician)

3.15 – 3.45 pm: Peter Tatchell (Human Rights activist)

3.45 – 4.00pm: East Lancs Clarion Choir

4.00 – 4.15pm: Mark Thomas speaks and hands in the signed ‘RED CARD’ to Mary O’Brien (US Commander – Menwith Hill)

4.15 – 4.45 pm: Seize the Day (folk group)

5.0pm Protest walk round Menwith Hill led by Lindis Percy (CAAB) and Martin Deanes (Green Party)

Walk will take approx one and a half hours – stopping at various points with information about Menwith Hill

Demonstration ends approx 7.0 p.m

I see that whilst "comedian" mark has distanced himself from the SWP he still has to be a leader in true SWP style
