G-20 riots: Is the Black Bloc a police psyops group?
Five hundred arrested at G20

The Law Union of Ontario Movement Defence Committee [MDC] has issued an appeal for broad political support for the G20 arrestees, estimated at nearly 500. Not arrested were members of the supposed anarchist group, Black Bloc, which is suspected of being a police psyops group ordered to start the G20 riot yesterday. Among the protestors, two professional journalists were also reportedly beaten and one arrested.
“The Toronto Police and the ISU appear to have lost control of their ‘prisoner processing center’, denying arrestees meaningful and timely access to counsel while beating and arresting those peacefully protesting their detention outside,” the MDC said in its press release today.
As of 9 am Sunday, the Integrated Security Unit reports that at least 480 people have been arrested on charges including “breach of peace, obstruct police, assault, assault peace officer, cause disturbance, incite riot, mischief, and participate in an unlawful assembly.”
Police attacked at least two professional news journalists during yesterday’s melee. Jesse Rosenfeld of The Guardian was reportedly arrested and beaten late Saturday night. In his last report filed with British news outfit, Rosenfeld wrote:
“[A]cross the country indigenous communities continue to resist government expropriation and environmental destruction of their land for mineral and resource extraction.
“Meanwhile Canada intends to use the G20 to expand the free trade of these mineral and resource commodities….
“[W]hile the Canadian state is using draconian colonial tools to present a veneer of representative legitimacy on the international stage, the streets of Toronto on Thursday asserted an alternative to the top-down style of forcing international consensus.”
Canadian police also beat Jesse Freeston of The Real News Network. Anchor Paul Jay questioned authorities about the incident:

While security for the event cost in the range of $1 billion, police were nowhere to be found when the ‘Black Bloc’ began smashing windows and burning police cars, according to several on scene reports.
One blogger noted that “the police car may have been abandoned there by the Toronto Police as a distraction (or as an excuse for agent provocateurs to act violently).”
Terry Burrows in a Global Research report asserts, “As events unfold, it is becoming increasingly clear that the 'Black Bloc' are undercover police operatives engaged in purposeful provocations to eclipse and invalidate legitimate G20 citizen protest by starting a riot.”
One camera caught a Black Bloc member changing his clothes after the riot, revealing a clean-cut man with a military style haircut:

The Globe and Mail published photos of Black Bloc members wreaking havoc. Burrows notes the new, military style shoes:
Whether or not Black Bloc is a group of paid police provocateurs, at least one corporate media station in Canada, CTV News, assured its audience that the bulk of protestors behaved peacefully, calling it a party atmosphere. In response to police brutality, protesters sang O Canada, hoping to shame police into good behavior.
Regardless of the violence, the message of resistance against G20’s predatory capitalism which is destroying the biosphere and indigenous cultures penetrated the media, as this report reveals:
"Activists and community organizers represented rank-and-file labour, migrant justice, indigenous solidarity, anti-police brutality, ecological justice, anti-war, anti-occupation, queer and trans justice, anti-poverty, anti-capitalist, feminist, anarchist, and many more struggles and campaigns. We are united together, learning from each other and inspired by each other. We are rooted in our communities.”

It's hard to say, but APs seem to have become so common, it wouldn't be a surprise. A good diversity of tactics may well require some destruction of property and obstruction of police, but at the moment all the blocs seem to be achieving is ineffective destruction / provocation of police who are quite eager enough to break some heads.

Go and look at any real Anarchist website or publication, you will see the phrases 'Smash The State', ' Smash Capitalism' and the like, so why are so surprised when the do exactly what they say?
Property damage is a perfectly acceptable form of resistance. SMASH THE STATE. SMASH CAPITALISM.

An anarchist
G20 Protest – Agent Provocateurs and the New World Order
28.06.2010 11:56
As the world elite meet to discuss their plans for total control, we have witnessed some very familiar events.
Anarchist provocateurs took to the streets in mass on Saturday, starting fires and smashing windows in a scene reminiscent of past protests in Pittsburgh and London. During the violence, the so called, “Black Bloc,” was left to run freely through the streets, terrorizing peaceful protesters and property alike. Later, frustrated that the police let the Black Bloc run free, people were seen intimidating entire lines of riot police and on one occasion actually pushed the entire police line back. Unmarked snatch and grabs have taken place on several occasions.
From all indications, it is clear that most of the protesters were peaceful people, assembled for various causes, in a completely legal and legitimate way. Peaceful protesters, in mass, are the elites worst nightmare and have always been dealt with by using provocateurs and a massive, violent police force. With over 500 people arrested, one has to wonder how many innocent protesters and journalists were actually arrested in one of the largest roundups in Canadian history.
Most of the 400 protesters arrested last night and others who may have avoided arrest didn’t see that violence. From their perspective, they were facing a violent police state. These demonstrations, militant but overwhelming peaceful, were resisting the right of the police to hold them to Queen Street. They think the people have a right to protest in a place where political leaders can hear them. They had nothing to do with torching police cars or trashing windows. rabble.ca
One reporter even tweeted, “Shame on those that ordered peaceful protesters attacked and arrested. that is not consistent with democracy in toronto, G20 or no G20.” Evidence is mounting that journalists have been arrested, while violent demonstrators were allowed to run free. Guardin reporter Jesse Rosenfeld was arrested and beaten for what was described as, “talking to much.” Inquires into when people will be released have so far proved useless.
Terry Burrows of Global Research, has uncovered the possibility that these “anarchists” were wearing the same boots as police, similar to a 2007 incident in Montebello Quebec. Agent Provocateurs have been used for years and are a very useful tool of the world elite.
Toronto is right now in the midst of a massive government / media propaganda fraud. As events unfold, it is becoming increasingly clear that the ‘Black Bloc’ are undercover police operatives engaged in purposeful provocations to eclipse and invalidate legitimate G20 citizen protest by starting a riot. Government agents have been caught doing this before in Canada. Global Research
Over 1.2 Billion dollars of tax payer money was spent to secure the Toronto G20 members from the enraged public and still the message was clear. We will not stand by as the world is taken over by a a criminal cabal of scum. 1.2 Billion, more than Toronto’s yearly budget, was used in an attempt to silence free speech and anger towards these criminals.

It would not be the first time such tactics were used to create the conditions for further curtailment of democratic rights. In 2007, at a North American leaders’ conference in Montebello, Quebec, police dressed as demonstrators were filmed carrying rocks and agitating amongst the crowd to join them in violent acts. And in 2001 at the Genoa, Italy, G8 conference, police agents were discovered to have instigated violence during protests.
The media plays its role through all-night saturation coverage, preempting virtually all network programming, highlighting the vandalous actions of some seventy-five people. In comparison, when a hundred thousand people demonstrated in Toronto against the American invasion of Iraq in 2003, the largest social movement of Canadians in the country’s history, it rated a minute long sound-bite on the nation’s networks.

Police has been using provocateurs in black in the past but the video 'one camera caught a Black Bloc member changing his clothes' is clearly no proof of that (at all).
The piece is rubbish indeed but the appeal for solidarity still stands:
Appeal for broad political support for the G20 arrestees
June 27, 2010 - 3:00pm | by movementdefence
June 27, 2010, 3:00pm
The MDC’s Summit Legal Support Project is appealing to the movements it
supports to mobilize a show of political strength and solidarity for the
nearly 500 people arrested in the last four days. The Toronto Police and
the ISU appear to have lost control of their ‘prisoner processing center’,
denying arrestees meaningful and timely access to counsel while beating
and arresting those peacefully protesting their detention outside.
Despite assurances to the contrary, only a handful of people have been
released, including those held for many hours without charge. Arrestees
are given incorrect information about the bail process they will be
subjected to, and friends and family members gather hours early at the
courthouse, located far from the city center and inaccessible via transit.
Our lawyers call in and are told that there is no one available to make
decisions or wait for hours at the detention centre, only to be denied
access to their clients. Almost 500 people are in custody and we know from
experience that the vast majority of those charges will disappear and yet
the cell doors remain shut.
We need to step it up and build a political response. We need many more
voices – especially prominent ones – to say that the abuse and
incompetence at 629 Eastern Avenue must stop. We must demand that all
levels of government take control of the police forces under their
command. We need to ensure that courts and crown attorneys act to enforce
constitutional rights rather than collude in their violation.

black bloc tactical realignment and the psyops peace cops
28.06.2010 13:20
a- police will infiltrate any form of protesting bloc whether they be peaceful or violent. Even a non-violent group can be infiltrated and 'provoked'
b- to maintain that 'Peaceful protesters, in mass, are the elites worst nightmare' is a fallacy. A quick look at history will confirm that peaceful protest simply leads to co-option by the state and nothing more than reformist measures being given out to pacify those demonstrators who are satisfied with crumbs in the name of an 'improved democracy'. Throughout history any time a ruling elite has been forced out or usurped and not simply made to accomodate some dissenting voices whilst still maintaining the status quo it has involved political violence. Those in power will not simply give it up because you ask them to.
c- to comment 'Shame on those that ordered peaceful protesters attacked and arrested. that is not consistent with democracy in toronto, G20 or no G20' smacks of playground language and simply shows that unfortunately most 'protestors' still believe that we live in a representative democracy where voting every 4-5 years or engaging in non-violent civil disobedience is going to cause the state to relinquish 'power to the people'. You have to realise that the political structure we are told is a representative democracy is nothing but a capitalist oligarchy where those in power believe they are granted that power by YOUR vote and they will not give it up so easily- this is the one way, heirarchical nature of political power, especially within a state structure and especially within capitalism.
d- to reiterate the black bloc is not a group but a tactic used by those who refuse to play the political games our masters dictate to us with a promise of some crumbs off the political plate. the reason why the state have infiltrated it and used it against us in such a way is because it was so effective to begin with. They saw the potential for confusion it caused, the same confusion they are now using to make a lot of you do their psyops games for them
e- as a tactic it was very effective for the first few times it was used, but as with all tactics they have to be adapted or your enemy uses them against you- so time to think of something new to catch the elites off guard. Which will be difficult because of the level of infiltration. If you think this is being paranoid look at the green scare in the us and the animal rights groups etc in the uk.
f- to use the two words 'anarchist provocateurs' together shows a basic misunderstanding of politics and makes you a provocateur troll doing the states work for them
g- finally the black bloc tactic is discredited on major demos and thaqt can only be a good thing. Turning up to a summit or demo and acting like this is beyond its sell by date and plays into the hands of our opponents including the state. The black bloc tactic is still useful and effective but done away from the media and away from concentrations of police on a random ad hoc basis with specific targets in mind.We simply want to destroy the crap we are forced to live with and in, we realise it can't be reformed in our favour, it is raping and destroying the world we and our children live in. Fuck summits and demos they are nothing more than a diversion which only benefits the spectacle and the elites. Roaming gangs of bakuninite black blocers attacking random worthwile targets on OUR terms not theirs is the way forward.
