Following today's successful nonviolent flotilla of cycles that took Alverhurst the March of the Penguins, famous penguin (who, incidentally now refuses to March to any war zone) to Marchwood Military Port today (the UK's biggest fleet).

On armed forces day (wrongly named 'forces') it was important to ensure that there was an nonviolent and unarmed presence and a subverting situation of the warring spectacle.

The Society of the Spectacle plays up war and makes heroes our of killers, and half felt soldiers who go - some not knowing why they go to war. Our arrival made the things change round - suddenly we were at first seen as a threat and then we subverted it by friendliness and we were even kind to the soldiers, police and MOD staff that turned up/talked to us. The level of fear was high - we made fun and play out of the situation not fear and fierceness. Methinks play achieves more than protest and seriousness ever can.

Topical dialogues, communal games and munching of shared foods and reflecting on our own nonviolence journeys.

- Umbrella dilemma: So whose umbrella would you rather be under, would you rather your family and loved ones to be under.
- We look at the Brighton Decommissioners (of dangerous war weapons to Israeli) to refusniks from many countries
- there is the street trial of Alverhurst "WHO AINT MARCHIN ANYMORE". Coward or hero? Prison, being demobbed or deflated? Come and participate - suitable for children and adults, miliatiarists and civillians - all welcome (no weapons of any description allowed).
- hear others views about and on the war in Afghanistan
We will be in the north end of central parks, somewhere near the 'peace' fountain between 12.30 and 4.00 if you happen to be in town do join us in putting

At 5pm all being well, there will be a couple/three short film showings at the
King Alfred Pub
