MARXISM2010 - 5-day Political festival in central London

[Bristol] Dave | 21.06.2010 20:22

1-5 July
Visit www.marxismfestival.org.uk/ and follow the links for FULL TIMETABLE of 100s of workshops and other political and cultural events.
Marxism is the largest left wing gathering in Britain-and one of the largest in the world.

Thousands of participants - trade unionists, students, activists and academics, and those simply interested in how the world can be changed - converge on London to discuss the ideas that have inspired the struggles of the exploited and dispossessed.

But this year's event has a special urgency. For three years capitalism has been in crisis. Now, in Britain and beyond, we face an assault on our livelihoods, our public services and our right to work on a scale unseen for generations.

This assault comes at a moment of political weakness for our rulers as old ideological certainties melt into air and as the mainstream parties struggle to connect with ordinary voters.

This will frame the debates and discussions at Marxism 2010, where the best speakers on the left will introduce over 200 workshops, panels, film showings and rallies. There will be opportunities to meet activists from every continent and from every arena of struggle. If you wish to be there, book your ticket now.

Latest speakers include:

- Eamonn McCann on "The Bloody Sunday Enquiry"
