Be part of Brighton's new solar power station

Brighton Energy Co-op | 10.06.2010 16:24 | Climate Chaos | Ecology | Energy Crisis | South Coast

17th June sees the initiation of a great new project in Brighton - the UK's first community-owned solar power station. The £350,000 scheme will be run as a co-operative, meaning that every shareholder has an equal say in management, whether you have a few thousand pounds to invest or just fifty quid.

As the UK's first solar co-op - and hot on the heels of electing the country’s first Green MP - here’s another chance for Brighton to make eco history.

PUBLIC MEETING: 17 June, 7.30pm, Free Pheonix Community Centre, 2 Phoenix Place, Brighton, BN2 9ND

Learn how communities can earn money through government Feed in Tariffs and how we're going to set up Brighton's largest renewable system. There’ll be an opportunity to ask questions, put across your own views, and meet other potential members.

Speakers:
Howard Johns (Southern Solar),
John McDonald, (Solar Century)
Will Cottrell (Brighton Energy Co-op)
