EDL 20th of June possible location change.

Autonomous Action | 09.06.2010 20:57

This information is being made public so antifascists and the community are prepared and ready to respond accordingly.

Although the EDL want to be right outside the Troxy, it appears the police fear they will not be able to facilitate the protest due to the potential magnitude of the mobilisation against the EDL.
The police have stated they are capable of facilitaing them elsewhere in London however the EDL does appear to want to push ahead with the east london location. Nothing is yet confimed so please be prepared to mobilise elsewhere.

The EDL leadership has stated it will confim the details next week.

Lets finish them in London.

No pasaran!

Just what do you have against people who protest against Islamic extremists?

10.06.2010 08:40

Just what do you people have against people who protest against Islamic extremists? Would you have anything against people who protested against Christian extremists like the God hates Fags group? Or people who protest against Scientology?

Can't you see the EDL are not against people of a different race? The EDL membership is open to people of all races and religons including Islam as long as they oppose extremists within their religon?

OK so the EDL do have a few racists and BNP members within their ranks, but then so do about 90 per cent of football club fans, but I don't see you people protesting outside football matches and chanting "fascist scum" to fans entering football grounds.

You people are as bad as the people in the 1980s who claimed that CND was a communist front organisation! You have been blinded by media stereotypes.

Community building.

@ Jimbo, maybe get in touch with Whitechapel Anarchist Group. They are local and no doubt be getting involved with the local community to facilitate a local response to these non local trouble makers. Once details are confirmed them or others (us included) will post up some promotional material so stay tuned.

@ Confused, whats to be confused about, you have been trolling these boards long enough to know our problem with the EDL. They are a minority that divide communities much like the extreemists they propse that are fighting. We reject both, we are in the bussiness of community building, if you are too then this might interest you

Confused?

10.06.2010 12:57

Listen, I'm a working class lad from Essex, I know the EDL are typical english blokes, and some of them are concerned about the country, but everytime they march, they go from pub to pub completely rat-arsed shouting ""ING-GER-LAND! ING GER LAND"

whats wrong with loving your country? nothing, but then they get drunk and start making racist jokes at muslims.

This is hardly going to help the problems in the country, everytime they go near a Muslim neighbour they piss off the local lads who already feel slighty marginalised.

all they're doing is creating an enviroment where racism can flourish.

Update

10.06.2010 13:41

The Troxy has cancelled the Islamic conference stating, "We recently signed up to the council's No Place for Hate campaign and feel that some of the speakers have the potential to clash with the terms of the pledge."

One down one to go,

Despite the fact that the conference has been reported as cancelled, no doubt the EDL will still push ahead with their demo and show their true colours.

Fuck the EDL
