Petition about the continuing internment and human rights violations against over 100,000 Tamils in Sri Lanka.

This message was sent from the Sri Lanka Peace Campaign website, www.srilankacampaign.org

Though some people are being 'released' from the camps, in reality, people are still not really free to leave and, in practice, do not fully enjoy this most basic of human rights. Some who have left are not able to return home and the International Committee of the Red Cross has virtually no access to the special camps for over 10,000 "alleged "LTTE combatants. The news black-out means none of this can be investigated and proved/dismissed.

The world is being encouraged to think the troubles are over when in reality the situation is still critical. The Sri Lanka Campaign for Peace and Justice, together with other pro-democracy groups are working to bring pressure on the UN to intervene with a number of urgent actions.

Action is needed urgently - Please take 20 seconds to sign the online petition to the United Nations:  http://www.srilankacampaign.org/form.htm
