London Gaza protest moves to Israeli embassy

Laptop | 31.05.2010 16:11 | Flotilla to Gaza

The London protest against the lethal attack on the Gaza aid flotilla has moved to the Israeli embassy - phone report of 5000 people there.

An IMC correspondent phones in to say there are 5000 people near Israel's embassy in London. Much anger, shouts of "shame on you" but no repression, so far.

This follows the spontaneous 11am demo at Downing Street getting to protest on the right side of the road, for once, despite police requests - and a reported thousand or so getting to block Whitehall at 2pm.

More news, from near Kensington Palace Gardens, later.

Crowd near Israeli Embassy undiminished

IMC correspondent phones in that there are still (at least) as many people on Kensington (High) Street - as near as you can get to Israel's embassy in London.

The shouting is, not unexpectedly, angry.

There are 5 lines of police between the protest and the embassy and more guards behind.
