Glasgow University lecturers have been threatened with forced redundancies. Over 80 jobs are at risk. This is despite the university's budget being very healthy, so this cost-cutting exercise is completely unnecessary. Students demonstrated in support of the staff on Thursday 20th May and to protest that the education cuts will affect their studies. A petition was handed into the principal and it was agreed to have talks early in June.
