Cerebra, the charity for brain injured children has given a grant for a trike to Evie, a local girl with hydrocephalus. The charity is running an event on the 3rd June for supporters
Evie Littlewood-Hillsdon, from Bristol, suffers from Hydrocephalus, also known as ‘Water on the Brain.’ The condition can cause an increased pressure inside the skull, progressive enlargement of the head and mental disability.

Cerebra, the charity for brain injured children, awarded the grant two weeks ago and now Evie excitedly awaits its arrival!

Her mother, Katy, said, “Evie has Hydrocephalus and mild Cerebral Palsy . She is unsteady on her feet and lacks balance and co-ordination so she is unable to ride a normal bike.”

“She’s got a twin sister and a sister a year older than her and this grant means we can now take them all out together as a family.”

Kath Fryer is Cerebra’s Regional Officer in Bristol. She said “By talking to families, and visiting their homes, I try to find out about their children’s needs and those of the whole family. We try to support families not just with information and guidance but also with material help where this will make a real difference”.

Cerebra is currently running a legacy campaign which offers supporters the opportunity to leave a donation in their will.

Arthur Parkinson, head of the Cerebra Legacy team said, “The future is an uncertain place, particularly in light of the economic climate and we want to make sure our work in Bristol, as well as around the UK, is guaranteed for future generations.

That is why we have launched a campaign both locally and nationwide to encourage legacy giving.

It’s easy, it’s free, it doesn’t have to be for a significant amount and anyone can do it.”
Cerebra are holding an event in Bristol for keen supporters who are interested in leaving a legacy.

The complimentary lunch and talks from Arthur and Kath will be at the Aztec Hotel on 3rd June and there is limited availability so please ring Arthur at the legacy team on: 07500 972320.
