London Campaign Against the Arms Trade at the Spirit of Summer Fair
London CAAT | 16.05.2010 20:44 | Anti-militarism
Six London Campaign Against Arms Trade members descended on the Spirit of Summer Fair at Kensington Olympia this morning to highlight the link between the fair and the DSEi arms fair. The owners of the Spirit of Summer Fair, Clarion Events, brought DSEi in May 2008 and London CAAT has been outside events organised by Clarion since then. A summery theme seemed appropriate so members were all attired in their finest summer outfits and water pistols were used as props. Leaflets were handed to explain why they were there. All the leaflets went and a number of people seemed horrified to learn of the fair’s links with the arms trade. London CAAT will be maintaining the pressure on Clarion with another appearance at the Fine Arts Fair (also at Olympia) on Saturday 5th June at 11am.
