This is the 5th annual Green Fair in the heart of Redditch Town Centre, in and around St Stephens Church. There will be approx 30 stalls offering green products, fairtrade goods, organic produce, natural gifts and lots of info to help you lead a more sustainable, eco-friendly life. Also kids fun activities, talks, entertainment, alternative therapists, free vegan food samples and lots more...!

Eco-friendly products on sale/display will include electric vehicles, renewable energy systems, ethical clothing, recycled stationery, local organic food, toxic chemical-free cleaning products, re-usable cloth bags, natural cosmetics etc.

Redditch based group Talking Drums will invite fair goers to join their `drumming circle`. In previous years, dozens of adults and children have jumped at the opportunity to have a go for free. A lead drummer set the beat and others had to copy him. The sound of rythmic beating drums attracted passing shoppers and entertained everyone at the event throughout the day.

In the childrens activity area, they will be invited to make 'Green Man' masks using cardboard, paper, leaves, straw, paint, crayons and various other materials, and lots of imagination! Previous fairs have seen dozens of children(and their parents) having lots of fun with this.

No matter how much you know about planet-friendly living, nobody knows it all. As always, there`ll be lots to learn, see and do at the Redditch Green Fair.

WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY

Saturday 5 June is World Environment Day, the biggest, most widely celebrated, global day for positive, environmental action. Commemorated on 5 June since 1972, WED is one of the principal vehicles through which the United Nations stimulates worldwide awareness of the environment and encourages political attention and action.

The theme of WED 2010 is 'Many Species. One Planet. One Future'. It echoes the urgent call to conserve the diversity of life on our planet. A world without biodiversity is a very bleak prospect. Millions of people and millions of species all share the same planet, and only together can we enjoy a safer and more prosperous future.
