Women In Black hit the streets of Oxford (well, Bonn Square) on Saturday 8th May in a silent and pasifistic sort of way.

A good start to the Naqba Week comemorations.

Nine women took part in the Oxford Women In Black Vigil from 11.30 to 12.30 on Sat. 8 May in Bonn Sq. Oxford.

WOMEN IN BLACK VIGILS - were started by Israeli women in support of their Palestinian sisters and brothers, against the might of the Israeli State.

WIB has now been taken up by groups all around the world. These silent vigils are a powerful and dignified medium to bearing witness to the needs of the Palestinian people for Justice and Peace.

The Vigils will take place at BONN SQUARE, OXFORD, on Saturday mornings

These first 3 vigils will be in support of the Women in Black in Jerusalem who meet each week to protest the Israeli Occupation of Palestine.

We will be drawing attention to the devastating impact of illegal Israeli settlement expansion and policy of "ethnic cleansing" in the Palestinian West Bank and
East Jerusalem.
