What's going on with IM Scotland?

Can it be sorted out? | 06.05.2010 15:03

There's loads of useless posts coming from them.

As it says above, what's going on with IM Scotland? Lots of crappy, short and often irrelevant posts are ending up on here? Is it a virus or some nutter with IM access.

And can it be sorted out somehow, it's making this site look even more of a joke than it is already.

Can it be sorted out?

Mods and Rockers

Im not a mod but i think that the indy techy types are experimenting with a way of getting some posts on the to the UK site from the indymedias that operate on different systems to UKIMC ie the ones listed as other ...Bristol,London, Northern and Scotland.
Speaking as a someone in Bristol who is aware that Bristols central colum changes faster than the national one I can see how UK IMC could benefit from that input but im also aware that BIMC still has a dedicated team of mods and that obviously a lot of the news is of no interest to folks elsewhere (same applies for a lot of london news that gets posted on UKIMC though!)
I take your point that a post with “openhiemer is a tool repeated over and over” on scotland and here is not very usefull!!! Hopefully the various IMC's will work out a method and explain it on the various sites cos if they have already i've mised it

RSS Articles and Hiding

Pulling in articles from other Indymedia web sites in the UK have been enables for the UK Newswire, however the automatic hiding of articles when they are hidden on the source site hasn't yet been sorted out, so the sites which get spam posted to their newswire end up syndicating it to the UK site and it has then to be manually hidden, for now...
