nike adverts vandalised in south london yo

some birds | 30.04.2010 17:39 | Workers' Movements

nike adverts got fucked with in south london.

Today we took up Nike's call to 'claim your streets' by vandalising 8 of their phonebox adverts in the south london area. We did it for a number of reasons and suggest that others take up the call.

we had an awesome time, improvising slogans and tactics as we went. give it a go!

See y'all on the streets tomorrow

Why the link to a nike site? Why no pics, or any real info?

Seems like part of nikes new advertising project to me.

why do you question our action

why do you question the action, asking for photos, get off your ass and have a look, or do some yourself. your a fool to think that nike would come on indymedia, your need for hard evidence speaks volumes of your anarcho-voyerism.

merely a feather

I don't "come and look" because I'm at the other end of the country. I already "get off my arse" and do subvertising (and more importantly community organising).

A fool for thinking that a company that makes a lot of money selling to impressionable kids in subcultures would come onto a site and advertise (especially at a time when so many adverts for all sorts of junk are appearing on IM - people are even trying to advertise washing machines on here)? I'd say the naive fool award goes to yourself.

Anarcho-voyeurism? Please! Your language speaks volumes about your middle-class background and ethics.

The need for "hard evidence" is what the media (including IM) is all about. I mean, I've just seen an alien, no proof or anything - you will just have to believe me.

Thanks for the advertising link to nike though, another url to go into my advertisers blacklist.

Great action, not sure about the website link

Sounds like a great action. but I'm not sure it was a good idea to put the link to the Nike website, as it helps raise their profile and boost their page ranking. Ah well, I'm sure an Indymedia link has very little benefit for them anyway, so no big deal. Maybe it will get them some extra shit too.
