LONDON-OCCUPATION of the Hellenic Centre

The Building of the Hellenic Centre in the heart of London is occupied since earlier this noon, 2 banners are flying on the roof and another is on the entrance of the building (see Photos). The 3 banners write: ‘Freedom to Dimitrakis and to all Anarchist Prisoners’; the 2nd writes ‘Honour to Lambros Fountas’ - ‘Freedom to the 6′ and the 3rd one writes ‘Fire to the Prisons – Freedom to the Anarchist Comrades Alfredo Bonnano and Christos Stratigopoulos’.

The 6 is referred to the 6 anarchists arrested a few days ago accused by the police for participating to the ‘Revolutionary Stuggle’; Lambros Fountas is the anarchist who was killed by the police in March; Yannis Dimitrakis is the anarchist who is in jail for a bank robbery, today is a call for international solidarity to Dimitrakis, while Alfredo Bonano and Christos Stratigopoulos are in prison since late 2009 accused for a bank robbery.

In Greece actions in solidarity to Yannis Dimitrakis took place in Athens, Thessaloniki, Kozani, Komotini, Yannena, Serres, Kavala, Rethymno, Volos and Xanthi. Besides London, abroad actions took place in Spain: Barcelona and Malaga.

solidarity?

i don't get it. what was the point? is this real solidarity? did you stop the helennic centre from giving greek lessons... did you stop them from actually doing anything??

why not attack the prison industrial complex in this country as real solidarity. you say fire to the prisons, but i can say that too..... doesn't mean it actually happens. i'm sure its nice to see that people are remembering those in prison, but wouldn't it be better to actually do something against prisons here??????.....

apart from announcing on indymedia, who else did this go out to? or are we just announcing it to ourselves to make ourselves feel better.

not really an answer

not really an answer... doesn't address the fact of useless actions like occupying a building (*read* climbing on its roof and holding a banner outside). it merely points to a better action done elsewhere...
