The Michael Stone Award for Rough Justice is now open.

The Michael Stone Award for Rough Justice is now open; full details of how to enter, and prizes, can be found at the link below:

This is a unique competition inviting applicants to vent their spleen at a criminal justice system that acquits a thug like PC Smellie or a murderer like Christopher Sherwood in the face of overwhelming evidence while stitching up "undesirables" on no evidence whatsoever.

was already thinking about which poem to enter, or whether to write a fresh one, feeling excited at the thought of entering, and then i read what the prize was. a framed photo of a rapist! omigod are you people mad or do you seek to exclude survivors of rape for some rational reason i am failing to imagine? let alone others who are lucky enough to be in the minority, ie haven't yet been raped, but still do not want a framed photo of a rapist on their walls?

Maybe the organisers think Mike Tyson was innocent?

re: Mike Tyson being a rapist - maybe the organisers of this are counting Mike Tyson as someone who has had "rough justice" and is innocent of what he was convicted for? I don't know enough about the case to say either way.

hysterical nonsense.

People who haven't been raped are in the minority? On what planet?

As a survivor of child sexual abuse I find your statements ridiculous and damaging. Those who have suffered rape and sexual assault at the hands are (thankfully) in the minority. And long may it stay that way.
