Following news that wild animals are to be banned from circuses
 http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/8588332.stm
It is looking almost certain that the Great British Circus (and others) will not survive to return to tour next year.

The Great British Circus has been caught on countless occasions abusing and neglecting their animals including just recently when footage was released of staff beating elephants.
Optimistically many feel that without 'Wild' animals the Few remaining animal circuses in the country will be unable to pull in customers and will have to stop using animals or close.
Nottingham Animal rights will be marking the end of what is hopefully our final circus protest with champagne and a huge chocolate cake with an important message iced on-top.
Join Us at 2pm this Sunday to celebrate the much overdue ban at
The Japanise Water Gardens
251 Toton Lane
Stapleford, Nottingham NG9 7JA

the 'great' british circus has faced protest everywhere it has been so far this year, from its opening night at Lincoln. through Skegness and Grimsby, to Nottingham (8 demos) and now in Leicester.
They continue until May 9th at Leicester Road, Glen Parva, Leicester, LE29TG (
 http://www.veggies.org.uk/event.php?ref=277)
From May 11 - 23 they are at Marston, opposite Leamarston Leisure Centre, Kingsbury, Sutton Coldfield, B76 0DP
Please arrange your own protests. Take care as a circus worker assaulted a protester in Nottingham, but don't let them get away with it.
