about a dozen edl were allowed to wander about the street threatening people...

It all very well to say that we shouldn't have been distracted by them, but then its difficult to not be by a bunch of leery wankers chanting "muslims off our streets"( though this did have its comic aspect as they were initially shouting it at a load of cidered-up punks, while i dont like to judge by appearances, I doubted were muslim).

The fact that the Police allowed them to do this for at least two hours, wandering from pub to pub...trying their best to start a fight was a bit of a mystery. ..Did they have a no arrest policy? I'm no lawyer but its clear they could of easily got nicked for 'breach of the peace', if not 'threatening behaviour' on a number of occasions. This sometimes happens when the police are told not to arrest as it makes more of a news story. Eventually things came to a head and there were fights around the fountains. around 4 EDL got arrested...and a couple of people got minor injuries. Then theire is the conspiracy theory that they were allowed to kick off to distract us lefties. Not convinced about that one myself.

I know that their has been a bit of a debate whether we should treat the edl as nazis...this was my first face to face confronation with them.... and they were pretty much your average bonehead hooligan...one had an SS (waffen) tattoo...they wanted a fight not a debate...if this was the whole "bristol division" then it seemed less then impressive...

As for the politicians...i didn't even see them arrive...i would say i was disappointed if i had any expectations of what was going to happen...the last I saw of the demo were some fathers 4 justice people dressed in their usual super-hero costumes. I went home after that.

That's right. The Next time the EDL announce they will be "marching" (or lurching statically), the UAF or whoever should organise a demonstration in a completely different city. Snub the scum. Why should anybody want to get slapped by boozed up thugs simply because the thugs cannot tolerate each other let alone anybody else.

After the grassing-up when Tommy Robinson was arrested, the EDL have been given a licence to do anything they please.

The EDL leadership are police grasses.

April 22, 2010 - Just heard that several EDLers have been hospitalised and carted off in ambulances – and the rest cowering under police protection – in central Bristol tonight. After several hours of shouting insults under police protection they were attacked by a determined force of veteran Bristol Class Warriors and others – and I Mean fucking veteran comrades = and fucking battered.At least three taken away from outside Hippodrome in ambulances. The tide has turned comrades.But let’s be clear here.This was about 15 cocksure EDLers who thought they could push it to the limits against megaphone leftie students.it wassn’t taking on 1500 EDLers. But the spell is broken. They’ll have to strut around in less chancyplaces. We’re not all in the UAF. We’re not all in retirement. Some old geezers have got blood in their nostrils and they quite like the taste. See you up the BRI.

And while your about it original poster stop giving them the publicity they crave by posting EDL posts here on IM.

The EDL are not fascists, they are just little Englanders upset that the 'terror wars' didn't turn into everything they had hoped.

As for them rioting let them, our friends at the mosques can fight for themselves. They are more than a match for the EDL.

So please, enough with publicising the antics of badly educated drunk and foul mouthed football hooligans. We have more important things to be getting on with.

I hope this is true, its about time they got a proper slapping. These scumbags are cowardly fascists and can take a kicking like anyone else. They have had a few slaps at demo's, especially Leeds, and were chased out of Brum on their first outing there by the Muslim youth, but apart from that there has been little else in the way of organised militant resistance to the EDL

But remember, we've chased the NF off the streets, we've chased the BNP off the streets, we've chased the BPP off the streets, these wankers are no different. They may have the numbers, and after a certain grassing session in Sheffield, even more police protection than your average fash outfit (can't wait for the World Cup, I reckon the truth will out then when the OB come knocking on certain people's doors in large numbers) but that doesn't mean we have to take these scumbags marching round our streets.

They are on the streets with the express aim of getting a reaction from you. They need it to drive up numbers and to get you to post publicity here at IM, which further drives up numbers.

Has it not occurred to anyone here that you might, by publicising the EDL, have helped them get the numbers that they now have?

someone must have pictures of antifa battering the edl or at least them being taken away in ambulances put the pictures up and then we will have no doubt what a momentus victory it was for the class warriors of antifa unless of course this is all bullshit ???

Its not exactly easy to film the scene of your crime when the place is swarming with OB is it? think on.

EDL trolls know this which is why they are calling for photo evidence to worm out of the fact that everyone knows you got done.
